Customers Spec: Wanted a large expanse of patio re-laid with a small retaining wall at the front. This area would be used for entertaining or relaxing. Required an area of lawn, childrens play-area and pond to encourage wildlife, plus they required a relatively low maintenance planting scheme.

The resulting theme of the design was circles within circles to try and detract from the very angular boundaries of the garden.

The finished garden incorporated all of the customers wants and needs plus lighting was added around the garden for extra effect.

Customers spec: Wanted to create an outdoor room leading on and complimenting their conservatory. They wanted the garden for entertaining plus a low maintenance planting scheme due to their lifestyle.

To try and detract the eye from the rectangular shape of the garden, decking and lawn/border corners were divided by an area of patio. A slight raised border with slate monolith water feature, spotlights and minimalist planting of grasses added a little more interest in the centre of the garden. A brick BBQ area was built plus a utility area was trellised off in one corner of the garden for their garden equipment to be stored.

Customers Spec: The customer was very specific as to what design they required, the only addition we made to the design was the lighting. Spotlights illuminating the water feature and corner specimens, plus ground tier lamps with contemporary decking lights spaced every two metres. Although night time photos have been provided to view they don’t do justice to how effective the garden looks when night draws in

Customers Spec: The customer wanted decking, lawn, a small picket fence to control access for their dog to the garden area plus a shed base needed to be laid and the existing fence needed to be replaced for privacy.

Being a typical long rectangular shaped Victorian terraced house garden, there were a couple of things I had no control over as regards replacing the fencing, the placement of the shed, picket fence and the gravel path. However more interest was introduced by simply adding a triangular area of decking to the front right of the decking area, which was mirrored by an area of planting to the left of the patio, this triangular shaped border was also used at the upper end of the garden near the house. Pavers were used at the lawn edges for easier mowing. The design was simple but very effective. Lighting was positioned and installed by the customer.

Customer Spec: The customer had a limited budget and wanted to landscape the garden to add more value to their property. They had purchased a circular patio which they wanted incorporated into the design. Working to their budget the resulting garden was squares within squares with the circular patio being placed in the top right hand corner of the garden. Pavers were used at the lawn edges for easier mowing. Not only was the planting minimal due to the budget but with a larger budget obviously more could have been achieved with the design, however the resulting garden was completed within budget, time-scale and, most importantly for the client, added value to their property. Lights were positioned and installed by the customer.
